A graduate of the University of the Republic, he holds a Postgraduate Degree in International Taxation from the University of Münster (Germany, 2005) and an LL.M. from the University of Konstanz (Germany, 2006) and is the Executive Director and Founding Partner of the Innovation Group.
With over 15 years of experience in International Tax Consulting, he advises corporate clients, family offices and UHNW individuals on international tax planning, estate planning and protection, tax residency, trusts and foundations.
In recent years, he has also advised Start-Ups on tax and corporate structures, commercial agreements, Intellectual Property protection, capital raising and business internationalization strategies.
He is the author and co-author of several articles and books dealing with international taxation, and a frequent speaker at conferences in Latin America and Europe. He is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), the Instituto Uruguayo de Estudios Tributarios (IUET) and the Iberoamerican Observatory of International Taxation (OITI). He has been Uruguay's representative to the IFA Latam Committee for 10 years and Professor of Financial Law at the University of Montevideo (UM) in undergraduate and graduate courses.
Currently, he is a Professor of the International Taxation Postgraduate Course at the University of Uruguay, teaching courses on International Tax Advice, Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements and International Tax Regimes of reference for Uruguay.
He has been recognized, together with the firm, in five successive editions of Chambers and Partners as Top Ranked Lawyer, Band 1 in its prestigious publication High Net Worth Guide and in 3 successive editions of Chambers Latin America as a leader in tax law in Uruguay. He has also been distinguished by Leaders League (International Taxation / Mergers and Acquisitions) and International Tax Review magazine as Highly Regarded Practitioner in the area of General Corporate Tax.
