Øystein is a partner in EY and one of Norway’s leading advisors within international indirect taxation, excises and customs. He is currently the Managing Partner of Tax in Norway. Prior to joying EY in 1999, he worked with international trade issues in the Directorate of Customs and the Ministry of Finance. He holds a law degree (LLM) and has attended various programs at Harvard Business School at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is also a writer with Karnov.
He has significant experience in advising companies navigating through complex and multi-faceted tax issues when operating on an international arena. His experience covers i.a. advanced supply chain set ups and re-organizations, tax consequences of EPCM contracts, complex maintenance agreements, green taxation and work with free trade agreements. Øystein believes in seeing tax issues and consequences also in an operational business context, focusing of providing advise which also aims at being manageable when implemented.
