DFDL

DFDL is a legal and tax firm with offices across 10 jurisdictions in APAC, including Bangladesh, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam. The Thailand team offers integrated legal, tax and consulting services. Jack Sheehan and Jonathan Blaine are the key practitioners in the local team. Sheehan heads the regional tax practice. Blaine oversees the Thailand tax practice and the firm’s regional private client practice.

The team recently assisted a private client in providing international planning. The team led by Sheehan and supported by Blaine advised a Brazilian national and family on the potential structuring of family holdings and the creation of a Singapore trust that took into consideration certain aspects of Singapore, US and Brazilian tax laws and estate planning issues.

Jidapa Tiamsuttikarn joined DFDL as senior manager during the research period.

HLB Advisory

HLB Thailand is a member of HLB International, a global network of independent advisory and accounting firms located in 159 countries. Its team consists of more than 15 professionals and provides tax services including corporate and business tax, indirect tax, private client tax, tax dispute resolution, tax and transfer pricing due diligence reviews and health check.

During the research period, the team led by Andrew Jackomos was active in handling transfer pricing documentation. Clients included an in-house animation studio located in Bangkok.

The transfer pricing team added Dean Christopher Rangel and Natchapat Chaipongpati as senior consultant and consultant respectively in 2023. Two transfer pricing senior consultants left the firm during the research period.

KPMG

The tax team at KPMG covers practice areas including transfer pricing, domestic and international tax, customs and trade, and tax deal advisory. It made a valuable contribution to the re-shaping of the Thai tax system, such as e-services tax law developments.

Founded in 2015, Kudun & Partners is a law firm that combines hands-on experience with a collaborative approach to get results for clients including corporations, family businesses and high-net-worth individuals. It has expertise in tax planning for domestic and cross-border M&A investment structuring and tax optimisation. It is also capable of handling tax controversy, transfer pricing and indirect tax matters. Partner Saravut Krailadsiri is the co-head of the corporate restructuring and tax practice.

The team recently served as a lead counsel to a textile manufacturing and distribution company in Thailand and provided tax planning assistance. It worked with the client and developed a tax-efficient plan for its restructuring, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.

Chanattorn Thunyaluck departed from Tilleke & Gibbins and joined Kudun & Partners as a senior associate during the research period.
