Overview

Maples Group focuses its taxation practice on internationally aligned investment funds and platforms. The firm collaborates with its Luxembourg based team to assist mainland European clients in tandem with offices in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. The firm comprises head of tax Andrew Quinn, partners William Fogarty, Lynn Cramer, and counsel David Burke. 

The firm was Irish tax counsel to Fortress Investment Group LLC for tax structuring advice on Irish investment platforms. It also acted for Apollo and ATLAS SP Partners in a $5 billion strategic financing and capital markets collaboration with BNP Paribas. The practice was sole tax advisor to Marathon Asset Management in a lucrative aviation holding structure deal.

The firm advised Heitman on its acquisition of the U-Store-It business in Ireland. It also acted for Oaktree Capital on the disposal of a significant Irish real estate opportunity.

Tax consultant Conall Brennan-McMahon joined the practice during the research period.
