Overview

Experienced tax practice AKD offers broad advisory services in the Benelux region. The team advises high-profile multinationals, financial institutions, and international private equity funds. It completes M&A, real estate, structured finance and restructuring transactions alongside tax litigation. Head of department is partner Ivo Vreman. Fellow partner Maarten Prevoo is an indirect specialist, alongside transactions partner Anton Akimov.  

The firm assisted Samskip on its new partnership with Matrans Rotterdam Terminal in a sophisticated real estate transaction. It also acted for Nasdaq Nordic listed, Aspo Plc and its subsidiary Telko in a strategic acquisition. Debt fund restructuring was completed for an Indian multinational.  

Partner Maarten Prevoo was hired from VanLoman in November 2024. Partner Milja Bormann-Bakker departed to BDO in September 2024 and associate Benyamin Karimi left for KPMG in January 2025.

The firm assisted Vitec, a Swedish vertical market software company, with the acquisition of ABS Laundry Business Solutions. It also represented the Culina Group in the acquisition of International Road Ferry.

Partner Yves Gassler joined the practice in September 2022.
