39 firms with a total of 39 rankings
From a single recognised firm in the 2019 rankings, we expanded our coverage of the region to include 39 different firms ranked across eight different jurisdictions in the 2020 editions of World Tax and World TP, which were released September 2019. Apart from a single firm in Costa Rica, every single one of these recognised firms represents their first ever appearance in the World Tax rankings.
For jurisdictions like Aruba, Bermuda, El Salvador and Nicaragua, the tables introduced were Active ones, with a view to developing full rankings in the future as we gather more information about their practices. But in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Honduras we were able to introduce full rankings for the very first time.
As the go-to guide for tax professionals around the world looking to find the leading tax and transfer pricing expert advisers, we aim to reflect the market and highlight the expertise of firms. In the Central America, Caribbean and Bermuda region we currently rank firms for general tax work, which includes the main categories of General corporate tax, Tax controversy, Transactional tax, Transfer pricing, Indirect tax, as well as more specialised areas in certain regions such as Private client, Real estate and Customs.
We hope to expand our coverage in the coming years to focus on the specific strengths of specific groups in specific markets, as well as to include significantly more firms and jurisdictions from across this important region.
