Anjarwalla & Khanna

It also advised a large Kenyan commercial bank in an appeal before the Tax Appeals Tribunal in an excise duty dispute.

DLA Piper Africa (IKM Advocates)

IKM’s Tax practice is highly regarded for its extensive experience across the diverse aspects of tax including tax controversy, general tax advisory, tax compliance and due diligence reviews. Their tax practice comprises of three core team members and five non-core members. The team has a strong reputation for providing practical tax, legal and regulatory advice, as well as representing clients in tax disputes at the Tax Appeals Tribunal.

During the research period, the firm advised several clients on dispute resolution and VAT assessment matters. One notable case involved a Capital Gains Tax (CGT) dispute with the Kenyan Revenue Authority on the transfer of net banking assets.
