Deloitte provides assistance in all tax legal matters for national and international clients. Adham Hafoudh is the tax partner in charge. He specialises in VAT structuring of international business transactions and negotiating with the tax authorities. Within the tax domain, the team is experienced advising on R&D claims and is well experienced working on R&D projects across sectors such as IT, automotive, pharmaceutical, technology, media and telecommunications. The tax practice has more than 220 dedicated professionals, nine of which are partners.

The firm advised a client on an indirect tax case for a customs duty tax refund close to $400,000. It identified a possible reclassification of one of the client’s imported materials to a tariff with a lower duty rate (or zero rate). Its role involved contacting the Czech customs administration for the client to get the approval for reclassifying the goods, and prepared the applications for changing the traffic code.


Partner Petr Kotáb heads the Dentons tax team in the Czech Republic. It has two associates and one partner. Kotáb specialises in international tax, direct tax and tax planning on cross-border transactions. The team is experienced in advising international and domestic clients in tax matters for corporate tax, M&A, real estate, banking and finance, insolvency, restructuring and banking. However, the team has extensive expertise in tax compliance matters such as the preparing and filing of tax returns, tax reports, tax reconciliations and representing clients in tax disputes. 

Dentons is representing Motorpal, a global leader in the field of fuel injection systems for diesel engines, on implementing a pre-pack reorganisation. Dentons advised the client during the preparation and implementation of the pre-pack, represented in insolvency proceedings, engaged in talks with creditors, and is representing in proceedings before the constitutional court.

White & Case provides tax legal advice to various clients including Avast Software, Klépierre and BMO Real Estate Johnson Controls. Partner Jan Pařík leads the team. In the past 12 months, it has been active in industries such as real estate, telecommunications and technology, energy and natural resources.

The firm advised a client in purchasing a shopping centre. It advised on the tax structure of the acquisition, which included due diligence and a thorough calculation of the tax value of the property since the seller could not provide a large portion of the documents.

WTS Alfery

WTS Alfery, a member firm of WTS global, is an international consultancy firm providing tax advisory, auditing and accounting services. The team is experienced in advising national and international firms ranging from small to large companies. Some of its tax legal services cover M&A, compliance, cross-border transactions, transfer pricing issues, private client and tax controversy. Jana Alfery is the partner leading the tax team. She specialises in international tax law, transfer pricing and litigation.

WTS Alfery advised a client for its state incentive in the shape of a corporate income tax rebate concerning the client’s planned production extension from the Ministry of Finance. After successfully obtaining the investment incentive rebate, WTS Alfery assisted the client during the inspections by the authorities.
