Corporate tax and private wealth are the primary focuses of the tax team at Philippi Pietrocarrizosa Ferrero Du & Uría. The firm also advises on tax planning and structuring and M&A transactions. It represents national and international clients and is active in an array of sectors including banking, natural resources, agriculture and telecommunications.
During the research period the team advised multinational firm America Móvil on the structuration of a 50/50 joint venture with Liberty Latin America which will concentrate approximately 45% of the Chilean Telecommunications market. The work done included tax aspects including cross-border mergers, analysis on tax attributes, and the separation and liquidation of entities outside of the JV’s framework.
