One of the tax controversy work highlights showed the team acting for Simplot in a dispute with the Commissioner of Taxation. It
assisted the client in a dispute on food classification considering the scope of the exemption
provided for basic food.
The Melbourne team welcomed Ben Furner in 2022 as a special counsel. He has strong knowledge of the US tax system, also experienced in advising on cross-border investing, financing, and capital raising matters.
